Multiplace Pty Ltd offers a 12 week skills upgrade program for people wanting to work in the areas of Accounting and Tax. The program is designed to assist with the transition into paid employment, with attendees exposed to intensive multiple ‘Real World’ scenarios that provide experience in many of the areas likely to be encountered.
The program can be done Online or in conjunction with staff at one of our offices, or a combination of both.
For Internships, this program is not charged, but is subject to availability.
For those wanting exposure to the program on a paid basis, which includes one-to-one time each week with qualified tax agents who evaluate presentation, communication skills, interview skills, basic tax knowledge, learning ability, and essential accounting and tax skills – the program is available on a fee basis.

Weeks One to Six
Preliminary
1) An introduction to key staff and personnel.
2) Overview of the organization, outlining its structure, objectives and core values.
3) Provide access and guidance to core company policies and procedures.
4) Identify where and how the work will be located whilst undertaking the program.
5) Opportunity to spend some time with your allocated work supervisor to assist with initial induction and workplace integration.
Training and Work Activities and Tasks
1) Basic bookkeeping for a SMSF, Company, Trust, Partnership and Sole Trader
2) Research web-related deductibility of specified items
3) Provide completed workpapers that summarise client claims
Training and Work Outcomes and Products
1) Assist in the development or review of Workpapers and Financial templates
2) Assist in the development or review of One-Page Fact Sheets
3) Assist in the development or review of Work Instructions
Understanding and Soft Skill Development
1) Understand the level of research required to provide advice to clients
2) Generate client trust through appropriately researched advice
3) Identify and research Industry based compliance framework
Weeks Seven to Eleven
Training and Work Activities and Tasks
1) Advanced bookkeeping for a SMSF, Company, Trust, Partnership and Sole Trader
2) Prepare a Private Binding ruling, a Release application, and an Audit Response
3) Provide completed workpapers for a SMSF, Company, Trust, Partnership and Sole Trader
Training and Work Outcomes and Products
1) Identify workpapers required for scenarios involving a SMSF, Company, Trust, Partnership and Sole Trader
2) Respond to client enquiries by referencing selected sections from Fact Sheets
3) Prepare tax returns for a SMSF, Company, Trust, Partnership and Sole Trader
Understanding and Soft Skill Development
1) Understand how accounting standards relate to financial reports for clients
2) Understand the most common queries asked by clients, and learn responses
3) Use Word and Excel; Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks; Lodge IT & Xero Practice Manager
Week Twelve
1) Review and evaluation of skills learned
2) Identification of areas for improvement and practical experience required
3) Provision of take-home materials and skills improvement assignments
The Attendee will be introduced to the company's culture and objectives, as well as the technical, commercial and professional aspects of the business through a staged combination of induction, training, observation, online or electronically provided assignments and supervised practice.
Attendees will be given opportunities to work on business projects and to assume responsibility for their performance. The company will provide ongoing supervision and mentoring.
